Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information YouOwe collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using YouOwe, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect account details you provide (such as name and email), ledger and transaction data you create, device and usage information, and support messages you send us.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to operate the service, maintain ledgers, process subscriptions, improve product performance, secure accounts, prevent fraud, and communicate service updates.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers (hosting, analytics, payments), when required by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or reorganization.

4. Data Retention

We retain information as long as needed to provide YouOwe, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and legal requirements.

5. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we continuously improve our protections.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, follow section 10 below and the Removal of Data page it links to. For other privacy requests (including access or correction), contact us using the details in the Contact section.

7. Children's Privacy

YouOwe is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If identified, such data will be removed.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers in line with applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice as required by law.

10. Data Removal

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by following the steps on our Removal of Data page. After we receive and verify your request, we will remove your data according to the steps, timelines, and email requirements described on that page (for example, action within five working days of a valid request and a confirmation email when removal is complete).

If you have an active paid subscription (such as YouOwe Pro), you must cancel it yourself through the Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings, as applicable—we cannot cancel store subscriptions on your behalf. Account and data deletion removes your personal data from YouOwe as described above, but it does not end or replace your subscription with Apple or Google; you remain responsible for cancelling with the relevant store to stop billing.
